The band, formerly known as punk-rock trio “Metafora28”, formed in 2009 in L’Aquila. The guys decided to sing in English and to play melodic hardcore. The debut comes in January, 2009 as a 5-tracks self-produced EP called “From our sleep”, which marked a new start for the young trio. Later on that year Emiliano Amicosante of Indelirium Records having listened to the EP decided to support the band, which was recommended by Alkemist Fanatix Management as well. In August, 2010 the collaboration with Indelirium Records brought the band about to record his first full-length album “Standing Against The Odds” at “ACME Recording studio” in Raiano. The songs have been written during the forced exile of the band from their hometown as a consequence of the Earthquake which stroke L’Aquila and the whole county. The album was out in December 2010, and it was dedicated to all the people who were (and still are) striving to give L’Aquila its future back…against all odds. Shortly afterwards the band played some shows across Italy to promote their debut album and, in May 2011, the band toured Eastern Europe (and Asia) with the Indelirium family fellows Straight Opposition, while in April 2012 they shared the stage with their close friends from The Memory for the Germany-Czech Republic tour. In May 2013, the band released the promotional video for the song “Unheard”, and in June of the same year My Distance stroke back with a new full-length album called “Tomorrow Will Become Today” (recorded at “Kutso Noise Home” in Marino), once again released in collaboration with Indelirium Records. The concept behind this album is how everyone’s current actions can determine their own future but can affect, and change, society as well. The album was promoted during the blasting My Distance/The Memory Central European tour (The Netherlands and Germany). My Distance are currently planning a new tour, over again with their mates The Memory, hopefully coming up at the end of 2014… check it out!
